The Heroes of Olympus: The Lost Hero

Rick Riordan newest book The Lost Hero follows three new demigods Jason, Piper and Leo. This book continues the amazing series of Percy Jackson but is told from the views of three different people. Jason wakes up one day on a bus with no memory of his past. He finds Piper's his girl friend and Leo is his best friend. The three demigods find them selves meeting Annabeth and going to camp half-blood. Leo immediately gets claimed by Hephaestus. At the end of the day Piper gets claimed by Aphrodite and Jason gets claimed by Zeus. Jason gets selected to do a quest to go and save Hera. He picks Leo and Piper to go on the quest with him. Leo finds a golden dragon in the woods (made Charles Beckendorf) that had gone out of control. Leo tames the dragon to listen to him by using his control over fire and gives the dragon a pair of wings and names him Festus. Leo tells Jason that he found them a ride, so the three start three quest on dragon back. Leo takes the group to Quebec, Canada in search of guidance of the north wind god Boreas. When the group gets there Piper and Jason are allowed to talk to Boreas but for some reason Borreas's children do not trust Leo because they say he smells like fire Borreas tells Jason and Piper to go to Chicago. So the group gets back onto the back of Festus with Leo in the front to go to Chicago. At about half way there Festus malfunctions and fall from the sky. Leo, Jason and Piper land in a old warehouse. Leo goes out of the warehouse to find Festus and repair him. While Jason and Piper stay where they are, when out of nowhere a cyclops come out to capture the two. When Leo comes back he sees three cyclops around Piper and Jason. He uses to his gifts Hephaestus gave him to destroy the Cyclopes. Now that they are safe once again they their journey to Chicago. Jason spots one of the evil spirits they are trying to capture and gets Festus to chase it.

That's where I have read up to. I love this book because after I read Percy Jackson I wanted to read a sequel and could not find a book that compared to the epic story. Now I finally have a story to continue this incredible sega. I believe Rick Riordan will be the next J.R.R. Tolkien. So far I would recommend this book to anyone whose read Percy Jackson and wants more or just someone a little knowledge of Greek mythology. But I would stroungly recommend reading Percy Jackson first. So far I would rate this book a 8.77/10.

Guardians of Ga'Hoole: The Capture

I just started reading this book a few days ago so I am not very far in it yet, do not worry I am still The Lightning Thief but I am reading that book at school and this one at home. So anyways I have read this book before but I never the whole serries, I only read the first two out of the 15 book serries. I just finished my other book Small Steps and I will be posting something about that soon. Back to the book I had not read this book in a while so I needed to refresh my memory before continuing the serries. I am only on about the 5th chapter so I have not learnd that much about the book. So whats happened so far is Soren a young barn owl is born in the forest of Tyto. He has a older borther who is a "know it all" Kludd and a little sister who loves Soren named Eglantine. One night Soren falls out of his nest and is Snatched by a Great Horned owl and taken to an orphanage. On his way he meets a elf owl name Gylfie. They learn all these new rules about how to sleep and things like that. They are eventually seperated and Soren is taken to his "pit". He meets his "pit" intructor (is just like a camp counseler) Finny (likes to be called "Auntie"), who seems very nice. All of the owls in Soren's pit are assigned their number (new name), Soren's number is 12-1. Soren then goes on a sleep march where all the owls in the orfanage walk around in circles with their fellow pitt groups. Soren was able to sneek away from his pit group and find Gylfie.

That is how far I have gotten. I can not realy give this book a reccoumendation or a rating yet because I have not read enough of it yet. When I finish this book I will make a new right up on it with a reccoumendation and a rating on it.
